Ian Henderson scored twice as Northampton Town's reserves beat a strong Birmingham City reserve team in a behind-closed-doors friendly game at the Blues training ground.
A Birmingham side containing Franck Queudrue, Martin Taylor, Gary McSheffrey and Marcus Bent raced into a 2-0 first half lead, but the Cobblers hit back with three second-half goals from Henderson and Shawn Richards.

"It was a pleasing performance against a team full of quality players," said reserve team boss Ian Sampson

"We started brightly but then lost our shape a little and found ourselves two goals down as we were punished. But we showed fantastic character to come back and score three times in the second half.

"Chris Doig got a full 90 minutes under his belt and Leon Constantine, Giles Coke and Ryan Gilligan all got 70 minutes in what was a very good work out for us."
