Whittlebury captain Ian Forman led from the front with 44 points as his Irish team retained the Nations Cup at Whittlebury Park.
With every player's score going towards a team's final total, the England team came second, followed by Scotland with Wales collecting the wooden spoon.

Christine Pearce made it two victories in two weeks as she carded a winning tally of 39 points
in the ladies June stableford. Zoe Croft (36) was runner-up.

The men's monthly medal saw Mitchell Edwards (net 70) clinched his first individual win this season by one from Peter Coles and Mark Harris.

ray Lewis celebrated his 65th birthday in style at Daventry by clinching the men's club championship by one shot from Andrew Davies in the 36-hole tournament at the weekend.

Chris Jackson led the field after round one with a gross 81, followed by Davies (82) and Lewis (84) as the fresh wind, fast greens and tough pin positions made scoring difficult.

Jackson dropped out of contention on the second day with an 89, but Lewis kept his nerve as he overturned a one-shot deficit from Davies on the final hole to lift the Neal Bowl.

In the 18-hole Highfield Salver, Tim Scull was the only player in the field to return a net score under par with a 67, followed by Bill Partis and John McKentay (both 69).
