Heathens slumped to a disappointing 29-6 defeat to Huntingdon in the Director's League.
The team felt they let themselves down with what, at times, was a lacklustre performance.

It was particularly frustrating as at other times the players also showed the capabilities that the team are developing.

One big plus for Heathens was the return to action after a year out through injury of influential No.8, John Curtis who made an immediate impact claiming the Heathens' man of the match award.

Heathens actually opened the scoring with a Laurence Knowles penalty, but they were 12-3 down by the break.

Knowles reduced the arrears with a second penalty, but injuries to key players Sean Durcan and Simon Smith blunted their attacking threat and the home side coasted home.

This Saturday Heathens entertain Rugby St Andrew's IIs in a friendly at the Racecourse.

n CASUALS IIs were in league action against Oundle and enjoyed an emphatic 36-0 win.

Tries for the Rushmills side came from Stefan Fowler, Rab Walker, who scored twice, Deiter Zajac, Colin Vickers and Joe Wrocynski.

Fly-half Andy Login kicked three conversions.
