Northampton Town's clash with MK Dons was tonight abandoned at half-time because of appalling weather conditions.

Although the Sixfields clash went through to half-time goalless, referee Keith Stroud called time on proceedings during the break by
saying it was too dangerous to continue.

The wet and windy weather was not conducive to a high-tempo entertaining first half as the Cobblers and MK Dons played out a first-half stalemate.

There were no chances of note for either side as wind and heavy rain made for a poor playing surface, with the ball either being held up by the wind or zipping out of play.

Ryan Gilligan came of injured after half an hour struggling with a knock to the ankle, with Colin Larkin replacing the forward.

Giles Coke returned to the side in place of the suspended Chris Doig, with Jason Crowe moving back to defence and Stuart Gray opting for a 4-3-3 formation, with Leon Constantine leading the line supported by Andy Holt and Gilligan.

Cobblers: Dunn, Crowe, Jackman, Hughes, Coke, Constantine, Holt, Osman, Gilligan (for Larkin, 33 mins), Dyer, Rodgers. Subs not used: Anya, Dolman, Taylor, Walker

MK Dons: Gueret, Stirling, Lewington, O'Hanlon, Johnson, Wilbraham, Puncheon, Cummings, Navarro, Leven, Chadwick. Suns not used: Abbey, Regan, Baldock, Gerba, Belson
