Cobblers 'beaten to Osman signing' by Kilmarnock
Northampton Town have been beaten to the signing of midfielder Abdul Osman, according to reports in Scotland.
Kilmarnock manager Jim Jefferies today revealed he has completed a deal to sign the Gretna player subject to a medical.
Osman had looked set to return to England, with Cobblers said to be favourites to sign him, following Gretna's relegation from the Scottish Premier League.
But Jefferies persuaded the player to move to Killie. He said: "He is only 21 years old and he's one we feel will challenge for the first team and has a lot to come.
"We've kept an eye on him for a while. He's a big, powerful lad that can play in the middle of the park. He's got good feet, is a good passer of the ball and has a presence about him."
