Bugbrooke were the party-poopers as they beat a Mens Own side celebrating their annual vice-presidents day 15-7.
In awful conditions with the wind whipping down the pitch it was no day for Champagne rugby.

Own started well and battled in every part of the game, but Bugbrooke held out and won thanks to tries from Jon Cory and Jay Smith, with Kie Fewster kicking a conversion and a penalty.

Mens Own scored a try through James Reynolds, which was converted by Mark Newton.

This Saturday, Bugbrooke entertain league leaders Market Harborough, while Own travel to Daventry All Blacks, who will be on a high following their demolition of Long Buckby.

Bucks were forced to wheel out a few 'experienced' heads to make up the numbers, and at half-time it was all looking respectable as Dav led 15-3, Adrian Flynn kicking a penalty for Bucks.

Injuries and a sin-binning weakened Buckby in the second half, and Dav eased to a 56-3 win, scoring three tries in the final 10 minutes.
