Northampton Town chairman David Cardoza says no other club will be able to match the contract offer to Adebayo Akinfenwa.
The Chron understands Town have presented terms to the big striker on a deal that would potentially put him among the highest earners at the club.

The one-year contract also has an option for a second year and is believed to be similar to the one offered to Gabor Gyepes.

Leyton Orient are interested in signing Akinfenwa, but Cardoza is resolute that the offer to stay at Sixfields will be the best one the 26-year-old gets this summer.

"I very much doubt any other club will be able to offer him what he have," said Cardoza.

"There will be lots of strikers out of contract in the summer and there will be plenty of people looking for a club."
