Worcester Warriors have been told to "get into the face" of Carlos Spencer in Sunday's big Guinness Premiership opener at Franklin's Gardens on Sunday.
The Kiwi legend has been singled out as the Northampton Saints dangerman, with Warriors' Greg Rawlinson saying he is aware of the threat posed by Spencer.
Second-row Rawlinson played alongside Spencer for Auckland Blues and says he is a class player.
"If you give him time and space he is very dangerous," he said.
"So you have to try to get into his face as he doesn't like that, it's just a matter of stopping his space."
Rawlinson joined the Warriors after the start of last season and admits it took him time to settle into the side.
"The game in England is different to the style I got used to in New Zealand, mainly because of the weather conditions and the muddy grounds."
