Northampton Saints back Robbie Kydd has signed for Guinness Premiership rivals Bath.
The Kiwi-born Scotland A international had been in negotiations with Saints over his contract at Franklin's Gardens.
However, Kydd was this morning unveiled as a Bath player, having signed a one-year contract.
Kydd, who can play at fly-half, full-back and in the centre, returns to Bath having played at the Rec in the 2003-04 season. During his previous stint he played eight times and scored two tries.
The 26-year-old was a regular in the Saints side during their last Guinness Premiership campaign two seasons ago and scored a memorable try against Biarritz in the Heineken Cup that helped take Northampton into the semi-finals.
However, his recent career at the Gardens has been hit by long-term injuries.
Bath head coach Steve Meehan said: "I'm looking forward to Robbie's arrival. He is the sort of player whose attacking attitude and skills base suits what we are trying to achieve at Bath.
"He provides us with cover at 10 and in other backline positions but I know he will set out to make a starting position his own."
Kydd said: "I had a good time at Bath last time I was here and I am looking forward to the challenge ahead.
"It is a fantastic club that is playing good rugby and is a place I want to be at."
