Injury-hit Kydd set to leave Saints
Utility back Robbie Kydd looks set to leave Northampton Saints.
It is understood Kydd is no longer part of director of rugby Jim Mallinder's plans for next season and is currently negotiating with the club about his exit as he still has a year left on his contract.
Kydd's two-and-a-half seasons at Franklin's Gardens have been beset by injury problems and last season's double-winning promotion campaign again saw the 26-year-old sidelined.
A ruptured Achilles tendon saw him miss most of the season after scoring three tries in eight appearances.
Kydd returned to fitness by the end of the season to play in the Guinness A League final, which the Wanderers lost to Saints, but with the emergence of Joe Ansbro at centre and the signing of Chris Mayor from Sale the New Zealand-born back has slipped down the pecking order.
Saints fans will always remember Kydd for his interception try in San Sebastian against Biarritz that sent the club into the semi-finals of the Heineken Cup in 2007.
Signed from Saracens when Budge Pountney was director of rugby, Kydd's start to his Saints career looked over before it had started because of a serious knee injury, but the club helped him back to full fitness and he was called up to the Scotland autumn international squad in 2006.
Injury again prevented him from playing, but he played in Scotland A's Churchill Cup campaign in 2007.
