Fijian Sireli Naqelevuki today insisted that he has not signed for Northampton Saints.
The centre, who made his debut for Fiji at the 2008 Pacific Nations Cup, had been in the spotlight for failing to report back to his club.

Saints had refused to comment on speculation linking the Franklin's Gardens club to a move for the player who failed to show up in South Africa a fortnight ago.

However, speaking today, he said he would return to Western Province when the time was right, and brushed aside reports he had signed for Saints.

"I have spoken to the officials in South Africa, and I will return back," Naqelevuki told Times Sport.

"I cannot say by when I will leave, but there are some family matters which I have to sort and then go.

"I haven't signed a deal with any other club," he said.

Fiji team officials Semi Rogoyawa, who has been a long time mentor of Naqelevuki, said the negative reports had to stop about the star and the media need to be responsible.

"It is not good to see so many negative and untrue stories coming out, as it is not helping his image," Rogoyawa said.
