Former Northampton Saints scrum-half Ian Vass says he wants to enjoy his rugby after signing on for Bedford Blues for the second time.
The former NSB pupil left Franklin's Gardens are being released by director of rugby Jim Mallinder as he prepares Saints for a return to the Guinness Premiership.

Vass, 26, will form part of a vastly re-organised back line for the for next season at Goldington Road.

He said: "It was a fairly easy decision. When I played there before I had a lot of fun and enjoyed my rugby and it wasn't a difficult decision to make.

"I don't know where I'll be playing. I've played a few positions in my time and I'm not too bothered as long as I play.

"As long as I'm getting on the pitch and enjoying my rugby that's the main thing."

Vass was one of three No.9s used by Mallinder last season, and struggled to hold down a regular first-team place.

He said: "It wasn't a massive wrench to leave the Saints. Like I said, I enjoyed my earlier time at Bedford and I won't be moving house again, thankfully."
