Discount chain to open new store in Northamptonshire town

A new discount retailer in Northamptonshire town opens its doors to customers later this week.

A brand new Poundstretcher store in Towcester is set to open on Friday September 16 staffed by team of local residents.

A spokesman for Poundstretcher said: “Keen to capture the hearts of the community, the Poundstretcher family has welcomed 15 new team members and are on the lookout for 10 more locally based superstar sales assistants and a cleaner.

“ Customers will be able to buy household essentials, gardening gear and homeware, as well as their favourite branded food and drink.”

Formerly a Co-Op food store, the new Poundstretcher is based near the Waitrose on Richmond Road, Towcester.

Additionally the store houses The Pet Hut, which is the UK’s only discount pet store chain bringing offering pet beds, treats, brushes and more animal care essentials by top pet brands at discount prices for the nation’s animal lovers.

Zazi Surakatu, area manager of the Towcester store said: “We’ll be offering big brands, such as Heinz Beans, Coke, Pepsi McVities, and more of your favourites at affordable money-saving prices.
