The Flying Scotsman set to steam through Northamptonshire again this morning

Anyone who missed the Flying Scotsman when it steamed through the county earlier this month has another chance to catch the train when it returns today.

The famous steam locomotive has returned to the tracks following a 10-year restoration programme costing £4.2 million and is drawing the crowds at every opportunity.

People lined the tracks to get a good vantage point when the train came through Northamptonshire on June 4.

But anyone who missed that will get another chance to see the Flying Scotsman when it steams through Wellingborough, Kettering, Corby, Gretton and then onto Melton Mowbray today (Saturday, June 25).

The provisional times for the Flying Scotsman, although these are subject to change and people are urged to the check ahead of the day for any changes, are:

- leave Kettering at 9.40am

- Corby at 9.50am

- Gretton at 9.55am

- Welland Viaduct at 10am

- Manton at 10.05am

- Oakham at 10.10am

- Melton Mowbray at 10.25am

While the train is always very popular, anyone wanting to catch a glimpse of the train is urged not to trespass onto the railway or private property while trying to see the train.
