Swimming: Northampton triumph at Tulip Open

Northampton Swimming Club's Juniors competed at the 24th Tulip Open meet and finished top club by a resounding 156.5 points.
As well as winning the club competition the youngsters won numerous medals in the top girl and top boy competition.

The staff at the meet - Andy Sharp, Sarah Greasley and Belinda Smith, who is also head coach at Daventry – were delighted with the
performance.

"The weekend involved some of the families camping and was a fantastic event for team building," said head coach Jacquie Marshall.

"During the session breaks the team played rounders and each session had a theme where the team had to do something such as crazy hair, face painting and fancy dress."

Tulip Open Club Results: Northampton 286, South Lincs 129.5, Calverton and Bingham 108, Deepings 107.50, Sheffield City 99.5.

Top Boy Results: Nine years: 1 Sam Thompson; 10 years: 1 William Adhemer; 11 years: 3 Matthew Chapman;. 14 Years: 1 Freddie Little, 2 Kieran Garlick, 3 James McElroy.

Top Girl Results: Nine years: 2 Anya Wolliscroft; 10 years: 1 Sophie Burnham, 2 Kerensa Ward, joint 3 Georgie Wilkes and Lorna Shore; 11 years: 3 Tiana Gordon; 12 years: 2 Sophie Denton; 14 years: 2 Lizzie Furnell.
