Northampton's Nathan Reeve returned from the ISKA world championships in the Czech Republic with a kickboxing gold medal.
The 18-year-old Kingsthorpe fighter was one of four athletes from Northampton who flew to Olomouc with club coach Tyrone Power, also part of the England set-up.

Reeve, fighting in the under-57kg category, beat strong Russian Vladamir Allabian in the final to become world champion.

And the Northampton School of Martial Arts had more to celebrate as Michael French won a bronze medal in the under-67kg category.

Tyrone Power jnr, just 14, lost a split decision to 17-year-old Czech world champion Tomas Tarant in a keenly-fought 13-17 years fight, while Lloyd Roberts put in a good performance against Austrian Johann Stoger.

The Northampton medal haul contributed to an impressive performance by the England team in an event that attracted entries from 51 countries.
"It was a great experience, and Nathan did superbly to win his gold," said coach Power. "All our boys did us proud."

The Northampton club is in Lorne Road, Northampton.
