Four members of the Northampton School of Martial Arts are heading off to the Czech Republic as part of the Great Britain team for the world kickboxing championships.
Lloyd Roberts, Nathan Reeve, Michael French and Tyrone Power jnr will be competing alongside 2,000 fighters from 80 other countries when the championships get underway in Olomouc on August 19.

Roberts, 35, of Hunsbury, competes in the over-75kg, Reeve, 18, of Kingsthorpe, in the under-57kg, French, 20, of Goldings in the under-67kg and Power, 14, of Abington, in the under-71kg.

Tyrone Power snr, coach of the club based in Lorne Road, Northampton, flies out with the squad as part of the British coaching team.

He said: "It's a great achievement for the club to have four in the squad. The opposition will be tough but the British squad has lots of talented fighters in its ranks.

"Hopefully we will come back with a good haul of medals."

The Northampton fighters received a boost with Jamie Murray, of Keep Fit UK, backing them with kit.
