Rushden & Diamonds footballer Curtis Woodhouse made it three knockout wins on the trot as he won his latest boxing match in Sheffield.
The Nene Park welterweight stopped Manchester's Dave Murray midway through the second of the scheduled six-round fight at Sheffield United's Bramall Lane.

Despite conceding a big height and reach advantage, Woodhouse, a former England under-21 football international who Birmingham City paid £1m for five years ago, produced a commanding performance to register his sixth win in as many fights since turning professional.

He dominated the first round against Murray before being trapped on the ropes toward the end of the fight.

But a three-shot combination floored Murray, who despite beating the count was stopped by referee Mike Alexander.

Woodhouse said: "That was my best performance. I didn't think I was going to be able to stop him but I let the shots go that and got him."
