Young Northampton businessman takes on the top motorsport professionals

A businessman from Northampton is taking part in a national motorsport rally this week.

Charlie Jackson, who owns Jacksons Diesel Centre in Heathfield Way on the Kings Heath Industrial Estate, is taking part in the Network Q National Rally GB 2015 which takes place today (Thursday) until Sunday.

The rally runs alongside the WRC Rally GB the final round of of the WRC season.

Charlie, who alongside running his busy workshop, is a huge fan of motorsport.

He has an Escort Cosworth circuit racing car and his favourite a MK6 Fiesta converted to Escort Cosworth 4 wheel drive for forest rallying.

Having had good results in rallying in the Escort Cosworth Group A, Charlie decided along with his Dad to build a Fiesta to the same specification in 2006.

Charlie has had some good results and nearly won the under 25 Welsh Rally Championship, although he crashed near to the end.

Charlie started today’s rally in place number 18 out of 87 cars - just behing the factory run WRC cars.
