Wootton Park School opened its doors to its first cohort of Year 7 children yesterday, with reception pupils set to start on 9th September.
The new all-through school has an Applied Crime Science specialism and will focus on its key principles of attainment, public service, community and citizenship.
The temporary accommodation includes a science laboratory, PE facilities, dining facilities, IT suite, art room and playing fields.
The school is scheduled to move to its permanent home, which will comprise a substantial new build as well as some refurbishment of the main building at the Wootton Hall Park site, in September 2019.
Principal Dan Rosser said: “To be welcoming our first pupils after so many months of planning is incredibly exciting.
“We are thrilled to have a first-rate team of teachers on board and to be able to offer a broad, rigorous, world-class curriculum.”
Open Evenings for those interested in a Year 7 place for September 2017 will take place on Tuesday September 27 and Thursday, October 6, from 6pm to 8pm, at the school.
