Woman rugby-tackled by man after refusing to give him money in Corby

A woman was assaulted by a man who asked her for money in Corby last Friday (October 14).

After refusing to give the man any money the woman continued walking, at which point the man rugby-tackled her to the ground.

She managed to fight him off and run away.

The incident happened between 9.30am and 9.45am near the garages in Tollgate Place, just off Weldon Road.

The suspect is described as white, in his mid to late 40s, about 6ft, with skinny hands, a slim face and a grey, malnourished-looking and pitted complexion.

He was wearing a baseball cap, black puffa jacket, black chunky trainers and light blue jeans which were frayed at the bottom and had a rip in the right leg.
