Peter Bone has said he is surprised to be facing an inquiry by the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards.
The Wellingborough and Rushden MP faces the inquiry over his expenses, according to Parliamentary authorities.
The Times newspaper says it concerns expenses claimed in relation to Mr Bone’s second home in London.
But Mr Bone told the Northants Telegraph today the announcement had come as a surprise to him.
He said: “My expenses are correct, they have all been approved.
“At the moment I don’t know the details of what is being alleged or who is alleging it.
“I am very surprised.”
