An ice cream seller in Northampton has celebrated the start of the World Cup by blasting out Vindaloo from his van.
Jamie Gallagher, who works for Gallone’s, will be driving around the Eastern District of Northampton for the next month in his ice cream van with Vindaloo playing for everyone to enjoy throughout the World Cup.
Jamie said: “I did a poll on Facebook to see which England song people wanted and Vindaloo was the winner. There was a really good response.
“I’ve set up a microphone system in my van so I can play different songs.
“No other van does that.”
Jamie, who just covers the Eastern District, began working for Gallone’s just two months ago.
He said: “This is my first season and I’m really enjoying it.
“All the Gallone’s vans are yellow but I wanted to do something different.”
Jamie, who has lived in Northampton all his life and used to be a professional boxer, has also decked the van out with England flags.
He added: “I’ll keep it like this with Vindaloo playing throughout the World Cup.
“It’s great that it’s sunny for the start of the tournament.”
