We go behind the scenes at Carlsberg in Northampton after the company announces it will be delivering beers to customers via drones.

Carlsberg exclusively revealed to the Chron this morning that it is trialling the use of drones to deliver ice-cold beer to customers.

The drones are able to carry a box of 12 beers and would arrive within 30 minutes of ordering from the Carlsberg factory in Bridge Street, Northampton.

However we can now reveal it was all part of an elaborate April Fools’ prank set up by Carlsberg and the Chron.

Dharmesh Rana, Senior Brand Manager, Carlsberg said: “We’re always looking at ways of improving our business but have to admit on this occasion that the drone trial was an April fools stunt.

“Will we consider drone deliveries in the future? For the time being we have no plans but you never know what the future holds!”
