Black smoke drifted across Northampton when around 300 square metres of scrub land caught fire - only shortly after the A45 had to be closed for a similar incident.
Crews from Towcester and Daventry were called to a patch of land off Hunsbarrow Road where a blaze had spread across a field at about 5.30pm yesterday.
Thick black smoke could be seen across the Briar Hill and Sixfields area, which Chron reader Paul Moore managed to capture on video.
The blaze was put out by firefighters within 15 minutes.
Earlier yesterday a section of the A45 was closed as firefighters tackled a separate field fire near to Rushden.
Police closed the road from Wilby Way at Wellingborough to the Waitrose roundabout at Rushden while emergency services were at the scene.
The cause of both fires is not yet known.
However the spell of warm, dry weather is set to come to an end on Friday, with rain predicted in Northamptonshire.
