A tattooed van driver who allegedly punched the back of a driver’s car in a road rage incident in Northampton is being sought by police.

Officers are appealing for witnesses after the heated exchange of words between two motorists by the Formula One Autocentre on Tollgate Way, Duston, on Tuesday, August 11.

Between 1pm and 1.30pm a black Seat Leon and a white Iveco van were travelling on Tollgate Way, at the point where two lanes merge into one.

A police spokesperson said: “The Seat Leon moved ahead, while the white van mounted the curb on the left hand side.

“As the traffic stopped, the driver of the van, got out and punched the rear of the Seat Leon.

“A further verbal altercation happened on the roundabout.”

The driver of the van is described as white, about 5ft 8 inches tall, of large build, between 30 and 35-years-old, with short brown hair, stubble, and a tattoo of playing cards on the right side of his neck.

He was wearing a t-shirt and light-coloured jogging bottoms.
