A 26-year-old Northampton man is in hospital with serious injuries after a crash involving a stolen motorcycle on Gladstone Road yesterday morning (Sunday).

Police are appealing for witnesses after the motorcyclist was involved in a collision at around 7am at the junction with Tintern Avenue, when for reasons yet unknown, the rider of a yellow Honda CBR 600 came off his bike.

The motorcyclist was taken to University Hospital Coventry with serious injuries.

Police have since confirmed that the motorcycle involved in the crash is believed to have been stolen from a house in the town.

A police spokesman said: “We believe the bike to be stolen.

“A man has been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and released on police bail pending further enquiries.”
