A music student from the University of Northampton is embarking on a tour of the country with a difference.
Yoshe Watson, who regularly performs at venues across the town, is going on a music tour from Newquay to Inverness but is hitchhiking all the way.
She said: “Instead of using a tour bus, I will be travelling the entire length of the UK, from John O’Groats to Land’s End, by hitchhiking.
“Along the way, I will be playing 7 gigs in 7 days, and the entire trip will be made into a music video by filmmaker Gareth Askew. We will be performing at a mixture of venues, and getting local communities involved, for example by performing in local hospital care homes or providing support slots for local musicians.
“The idea is to bring people from all over the country together, through the tour and the video, and to bring music and the spirit of adventure together!”
The tour starts on August 9. For more details, visit www.facebook.com/hitchtour
