Pensioners in Northamptonshire are being reminded to renew their bus passes before they expire on March 31.
Following the introduction of the over 60s national concessionary bus pass scheme in 2008, around 50,000 passes are due to expire at the end of March.
Northamptonshire County Council is reminding people not to leave it too late to renew their passes as they will be unable to use their existing pass after March 31.
Passengers can renew their bus pass at the local library.
Councillor Heather Smith, cabinet member for customer and community services, said: “With less than two months to go before we reach the expiration date, it’s vital that bus passengers visit a library to renew their pass sooner rather than later.
“Those people who leave it to the last minute are risking a possible delay in receiving their new pass, as with thousands of bus passes expiring on the same date, it will take time for library staff to process so many applications.”
