An estimated 25,000 people visited the Weston Favell Centre in Northampton to watch its spectacular Christmas parade.
The parade was held to mark the opening of the centre’s grotto and the beginning of the Christmas shopping period.
Centre manager, Kevin Legg, said the day was likely to be the busiest the centre had all year.
He said: “I’m pleased we received so many positive and encouraging comments from customers and tenants alike on what a great atmosphere there was.
“A lot of hard work by all centre staff ensured the festive season started on the right note.”
The parade included a gospel choir, characters from the Nativity and trolley “floats” designed by shops, including Tesco, Wilkinson and Oliver Adams.
Balloon modelling experts and stilt walkers also entertained the large crowds as the parade wound its way around the centre.
Explaining how the centre would continue to celebrate Christmas, Mr Legg said: “We have free entertainment every weekend from now until Christmas
“And, of course, Santa will be in our fabulous Grotto display for all to enjoy.”
