Thieves make motorbike escape after stealing sunglasses from Northampton opticians

Sunglasses were stolen from a Northampton opticians by offenders who then made their getaway on a motorbike.

The offenders broke into Sheinman Opticians in Abington Street in the town centre between 5.55am and 6.35am on Sunday morning (June 28).

They took several pairs of sunglasses before leaving the scene on a motorbike, police believe.

The pillion passenger is described as male and was wearing a black jacket, black tracksuit bottoms, black gloves and white Adidas trainers with three stripes on the side.

He was carrying an orange/red bag and what is believed to have been a sledge hammer, which was partly covered by a black bag.

Witnesses, or anyone with any information, are asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101.
