The Church restaurant in Northampton has been named as the best in the town after a public vote.

The restaurant in Bridge Street has won a Muddy Stilettos Award as Best Restaurant after more than 20,000 people took part in a public vote.

The Muddy Stilettos, which was only set up this year, aim to celebrate fantastic places, spaces and businesses across Northants.

Anna-Lou Dearden, editor of Muddy Stilettos Northants, says: “We set up these awards to give local businesses a chance to shout about how brilliant they are. For me it has been particularly exciting to see just how many wonderful places there are to visit in our local area and how hard people work to make it a great place to be.”

The Church Bar & Restaurant, which opened its doors in 2005, is a Grade 1 listed former secular building and can be used as a wedding venue.
