Terry tkes on The Battlefields Walk in honour of fallen great uncle

A Northampton man is returning to the First World War battlefields, walking in the footsteps of his great uncle, who lost his life in France.

Terry Whenham, from Abington Vale, will hike 75 miles to raise money for ABF The Soldiers Charity.

Last year, Terry raised £8,500 - adding to his team of walkers’ £288,000 total.

He said: “I’ll remember my great uncle Henry (inset) who was killed in the Battle of the Somme 101 years ago.”

A fundraising concert will be held on Saturday May 6 at the Barratts Club in Barrack Road.
