Tea party in Northamptonshire in honour of the Queen’s 90th birthday

People in Wellingborough are invited to a tea party being held to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday.

With the support of Nene Valley Community Action (NVCA), Wellingborough mayor Barry Graves will be holding a tea party‟ at the Tithe Barn from 1.30pm to 4pm on Thursday, April 21.

Cllr Graves said: “This is an important event to mark the Queen’s milestone birthday and I am proud to be part of the celebrations.

“This will be a wonderful opportunity for Wellingborough to be able to mark the occasion by bringing people together.”

Other activities taking place on the day include performances from Northamptonshire Carers Choir, Ukulele Crew and Croyland School Choir.

Judging of the local primary schools’ portrait of the Queen‟ art competition will also take place.

CEO of Nene Valley Community Action Rosemary Hadaway said: “Preparations are well under way for the Queen’s 90th birthday activities in Wellingborough.

“We would like to hear from any residents that are also due to celebrate their 90th birthday on April 21 so that they can be involved in the borough celebration.

“As well as the local primary school art competition, we are also inviting any knitting or baking enthusiasts to contribute a piece of work that depicts their view of the Queen.”
