Police have released CCTV images of five football fans suspected of being involved in a violent brawl at Northampton railway station on the way back from the Carling Cup Final.
British Transport Police detectives hope the images will help track down the gang after three people were assaulted in the alleged fight.
Detective Constable Sarah Trotter said the incident took place on Platform 3 of the station around 7.45pm on Sunday, February 28.
She said: "The victims, two men and a woman, had travelled back from Wembley Central and were on the platform at Northampton when they were approached by a group of five men.
"An altercation took place between the two groups, resulting in the smaller group being attacked by the group of five."
The attack left one of the men with two broken ribs and severe bruising, which left him requiring hospital treatment. The other man was left with swelling to his eye.
Detectives would like to identify the five men pictured in the CCTV images in connection with the incident, who are believed to be Aston Villa supporters.
Det Con Trotter added: "This was a particularly violent assault on two men who had no chances of defending themselves in the face of five attackers.
"We are making local inquiries into the attack and anyone with any information, or who recognises any of the men in the CCTV images, to get in touch."
Aston Villa lost the game to Manchester United 2-1.
