Students at Sponne School in Towcester were delighted with their outstanding GCSE results today.

In addition to taking English and mathematics, all students take a range of other GCSE subjects.

These results maintain the ones achieved in past years putting Sponne in the top few high performing schools in the county and beyond.

Among the many delighted students celebrating today were Joe Sinclair, Isabell Ashton, Katie Kitchen and Laura Simpson who all gained 10 A* grades each plus more A grades.

Jake Ward gained eight A* and five A grades, Brina Johnson and Thomas Cunild both collected five A* and six A grades each and

Evangeline Bilioni attained five A* and three A grades. Kallista Jayasuriya and Cieran Newton achieved four A* and six A grades and many more gained the highest possible grades of A* and A grades.

Over half of the students attained A* and A grades and almost 80 per cent of them gained at least five A*-C grades including English and mathematics.

Executive headteacher Dr Jamie Clarke said: “These are really outstanding results and we are all tremendously proud of all of our students who have done so well.

“Yet again, these GCSE results show that our students work really hard and achieve highly, allowing them to progress into sixth form studies.

“Along with the exceptional A level results last week, Sponne is maintaining the outstanding judgement made by Ofsted in 2012.

“Well done to all our students and their teachers in preparing them for their exams”.
