Sexual assault victim grabbed and touched ‘inappropriately’ near Northampton College

A woman was grabbed and sexually assaulted by a passer-by as she walked towards Northampton College.

The victim was walking in the Lower Mounts in Northampton, close to the junction with St Michael’s Road, at around 6.30am on Saturday, November 7, when she was approached by a stranger walking the opposite way.

The man assaulted her as he passed by, grabbing her and “touching her inappropriately,” a police spokeswoman said.

The man is described as white, in his mid-twenties, about 5ft 2 inches tall with short, spiky blonde hair.

He was wearing a “big puffy black coat,” the spokeswoman said and had an “unkempt” appearance.

Police investigating the assault would like to speak any witnesses.
