A new school planned for Northampton that has yet to confirm where it will be based has recruited a vice principal.
The trust behind Wootton Park School, which is set to open in 2016, has only said that the school will be built “in the NN4 area of Northampton”.
It is known that Northamptonshire Police wants to leave Wootton Hall as it reviews the buildings it uses across the county, but the trust has only said the school “will open in the NN4 area of Northampton” and that an announcement was imminent. Work has already started on a new £2.7 million roundabout outside the entrance to the police headquarters. The roundabout has been funded by Northamptonshire County Council, with £500,000 from the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner.
The new vice principal has been announced today as Jane Page.
Principal Dan Rosser said: “We are delighted to have appointed an exceptional vice principal, who shares our vision for Wootton Park School.
“Jane, who will join the school in September 2016, graduated from Brunel University with a Bachelor of Arts in Primary Education. Since graduation, she has worked in the primary phase of education and has experience of growing schools both in capacity and capability.
“Jane’s extensive primary knowledge has spanned delivering high-quality teaching across all age ranges as well as a significant amount of senior leadership roles, including headship on two separate occasions when significant and accelerated improvements were required to performance,” he said.
Ms Page said: “I feel honoured to be taking on the role of vice principal at Wootton Park School. I am delighted to be part of this exciting opportunity and I am dedicated to ensuring all our learners achieve, and enjoy their education.”
