Commuters found themselves in a backlog of traffic on the A45 this morning following a crash including cars, a van and a lorry.

Highways England has alerted drivers who are planning to travel on the eastbound A45 through Northamptonshire to allow extra time for their journeys following an incident shortly after 8am this morning.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police said: "We were called at 8am to a five-vehicle road traffic collision including a lorry a van and cars.

"An ambulance was on the scene and there were no serious injuries. The Wootton slip road was closed and lane one."

Highways England says it is working to fully re-open the eastbound carriageway following the incident.
