A collection of items belonging to a RAF bomber navigator who served during the Second World War are to be sold at auction.
JP Humbert Auctioneers in Towcester is selling off a pocket watch, a pair of spotlight goggles and a “very rare” emergency ration tin with original contents including barley sugars and Horlicks tablets as part of an International Militaria Sale on January 21.
The lot has an estimated price of £50 to £80.
Jonathan Humbert said: “To find three items in such original order and having belonged to serving RAF bomber navigator is wonderful. But the fact that the emergency ration tin is complete and unused is amazing and indeed a very rare find.
“The individual concerned was shot down and became a prisoner of war so we are proud to offer these items on behalf of his family”.
