Students at Thomas Becket School in Northampton have filled 75 shoeboxes with presents for children living in less fortunate circumstances.

The pupils at the secondary school made the collection as part of Operation Christmas Child, organised by The Samaritans.

This year’s boxes will be sent to help refugees in Europe, mainly in Hungry.

A spokesman for the school said: “We should all feel proud of our efforts, bringing smiles for Christmas to children in need, and those who have helped should have a warmer Christmas.”
