Ofsted inspectors visited Spring Lane Primary at the end of June and were impressed with the standard of teaching and pupil behaviour.
A report of the visit states “It’s a good school that is improving rapidly because of increasingly strong leadership and management.”

Hide AdInspectors said the headteacher has formed a team of senior and middle managers, who, along with the governing body, are committed to school improvement at all levels.
The report reads: “There is a clear focus on raising pupils’ attainment and progress by improving the quality of teaching.
”Achievement is good. Most pupils make good or better progress. Performance information shows that pupils’ progress across the school has been accelerated over the last year.
”Parents and carers are generally supportive of all the school does to support their children.

The school had been previously rated “requires improvement” after an inspection in June 2014
Headteacher Alexandra Owens, who started working at the school in September 2014, said staff and pupils had worked hard to improve standards.
She said: “We’re over the moon. Everyone is very pleased we got rated good in all areas.
