A guide showing the best of what Northampton has to offer is to be sent out to thousands of tourist offices across the country.

The Love Northampton guide includes information on the town’s wealth of history as well as a guide to the shops and nearby places of interest.

It will be delivered to 25,000 tourist information offices across the country.

The leader of Northampton Borough Council, Councillor David Mackintosh (Con, Rectory Farm) launched the guide during an event at the Guildhall this week.

He said: “This is really important for Northampton. We want to get more people coming into the town to see the great things we have to offer.”

Included in the guide are details about such attractions as Silverstone, Althorp House and the Lift Tower.

Councillor Mackintosh said: “We’ve got fantatsic history and heritage in Northampton and some wonderful events going on throughout the year, so it would be great if people saw the brochure and decided to make a visit to Northampton.

“I think this is something the town has been lacking for a long time. We need to tell people what great things we have on offer here.”

An online version of the guide can also be seen at www.lovenorthampton.co.uk
