The first phase of a 2,000-home estate in Northampton has been given the go-ahead by the borough council.
The plan, submitted by developers Barratt Developments PLC, is for land between Moulton and Overstone. Approval was given the go-ahead by Northampton Borough Council’s planning committee on Tuesday night.
As well at the homes, the Northampton North Sustainable Urban Extension (SUE) Overstone Leys development will include the construction of shops, a pub, a school, a nursery, a care home, and extensive open public space.
The proposal will also see a new section of dual carriageway on the A43 between Round Spinney roundabout and Overstone Road.
