Police investigation before action will be taken to evict caravans from Wellingborough park

Police are investigating an allegation of criminal damage before action is taken to evict a group of caravans from a town park.

The caravans have parked in Castle Fields in Wellingborough, and a police car was seen at the park at about 9.30am today (Wednesday).

A Northamptonshire County Council spokesman said on behalf of the Countywide Traveller Unit: “We have been made aware of nine caravans at Castle Fields.

“A police investigation is currently under way concerning alleged criminal damage and we are awaiting the outcome before taking action to evict.”
