A 27-year-old man from Northampton is recovering at home after he suffered a fractured back following a violent assault in Northampton town centre.
Liam Walden was leaving The Cordwainer pub in, The Ridings, Northampton in the early hours of Sunday, May 25, when he was kneed in the spine and beaten up by a number of men.
Mr Walden, who works as a stonemason, spent a week in hospital as a result of the injury to his back, which required an operation.
A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said they were investigating an allegation of assault but said no arrests had been made.
Mr Walden’s wife Becci said she wanted the people who attacked Liam to be arrested, charged and “named and shamed”.
She said: “I am very angry about what has been done to my husband.
“He has been completely bedbound for the past two weeks and we don’t know when he will be able to go back to work.”
Mrs Walden, who was present at the time of the attack, said it was devastating to see her husband get rushed to hospital after he was knocked unconscious.
She said her husband had been acting as the peacemaker in an argument when he was attacked.
Any witnesses to the assault are asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
