Photographers across Northamptonshire have been capturing the rare combination of a lunar eclipse and a “supermoon”.

The eclipse was last seen in 1982 and will not return again until 2033. A supermoon occurs when the Moon is the closest it can be to the Earth and therefore appears larger in the sky.

The moon appears red in colour during the eclipse, which happened in the early hours of this morning in the UK.
