'Human bones' found on footpath alongside A45 in Northampton

Police have launched an investigation after a member of the public human bones on a footpath in Northampton.

Detectives revealed a call on Tuesday afternoon alerted them to the grizzly find, close to the A45 near Hardingstone.

A crime scene has been set up in at the area alongside the Nene Valley Way, between Brackmills and the Queen Eleanor Interchange until officers can confirm how the bones got to be there.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: “Police were called at about 2.20pm on Tuesday (February 2) to a footpath alongside the A45 in Northampton following a report from a member of the public that they had found human bones.

“Officers remain on scene to investigate this incident and to establish the circumstances around how the bones came to be there.”
