A 77-year-old woman in a mobility scooter suffered serious injuries after she was in collision with a car being driven by an 80-year-old man.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: “A blue Mercedes A Class, driven by an 80-year-old man from Huntingdon, was in collision with a 77-year-old woman who was riding a red mobility scooter.

“The woman, who was from Raunds, was taken by air ambulance to University Hospital Coventry with serious injuries.”
