Outline plans have been submitted for a housing development of up to 147 homes just outside Desborough.
Developer Gladman Developments Ltd has submitted the application to Kettering Council, with a decision expected by March 2016.
If approved, the Willowbrook Stud Farm site in Rushton Road would also see a children’s play area and access roads created.
It is estimated the construction of the site would cost £14.1m, with the build taking four years.
Thirty per cent of the houses will be ‘affordable homes’, including 30 one-bed apartments.
Based on the average estimated household size for Kettering Council, the development could be home to 338 residents.
Leaflets were distributed to more than 700 households in the area last month detailing the development principles, with 22 responding with their concerns over the beauty of the area and highways access.
The application’s statement of community involvement, in response to the concerns, reads: “The proposal seeks to retain and enhance the local environment and biodiversity.
“The addition of new public footpaths ensures links to the wider countryside are enhanced.
“A transport assessment, submitted with this application, assesses the safety of the proposed access point and impact on Rushton Road.
“The proposals are concluded not to have a detrimental impact on highway safety.”
